How important are domain name backlinks? Very important indeed. For one thing, it is not as if you can just create some text out of your computer and pass it along to the public without any means of reference. The web is filled with various kinds of links that make it possible for people to gain access to whatever information they need quickly.
When a search engine encounters a piece of text on a website, it takes note of what it is and then enters it into its internal system. From there, all that is needed from the end user is the text itself and the click of a button to bring up what is sought after. The end result is a listing on the top page of the search engine that the end user can then see and click on.
If you have ever made a website before, you might have noticed that the link in the resource box on the bottom right corner of the page is labeled, "Sponsored Links". Why is this? Because search engines cannot possibly list everything that they receive without human intervention. If they had a list, it would be bloated and chaotic and it is simply impossible to keep up with the growing number of websites that are added to the engines each day.
What is needed for the search engine is something called "backlinks". A backlink is simply another link that is connected to your name. It is a link from your website to another site, an anchor text or domain name. In this way, every time someone clicks on the link in the resource box, you are rewarded with a little boost in your popularity ranking. Domain names are not the best way to obtain backlinks because of a very simple reason.
All domains are unique, even if they are registered within the same server. Furthermore, each domain name is hosted on their own server. This means that when someone types in a domain name that is hosted on your server, your name automatically becomes part of the anchor text that they click on. Every page on your web site then links back to your server. Therefore, it is impossible to mass create backlinks like you can with the use of a domain name.
Mass producing backlinks is also impossible with domain names because they can be copyrighted. If a website owner wants to make sure that their name does not get stolen, they will not register it within the first three months of being around the internet. They will instead move the domain name to a different server. Because of this, your search engine rankings will not be boosted as much when you do use domain names to gain backlinks.
To increase your search engine rankings, it is important that you learn how to build backlinks organically. The easiest way to create backlinks naturally is to use article directories. Article directories allow you to submit articles about related topics to the topic of your domain name backlinks. You simply place a link to your website within the body of the article. This increases the amount of traffic that your website receives, which then improves your search engine rankings.
Another good way to create backlinks is to talk to friends and relatives. Ask them if they would mention your website in passing if they came across an interesting article or blog post on social networking sites. Ask them to tell their friends as well. The more people you talk to about your website, the higher your search engine ranking will be. Just be careful that you do not spam anyone and only talk to those who are interested in your website.
